About Mike

Mike McIndoe’s book, Great Kids—why the best shine so brightly, is the culmination of Mike’s thirty-four years working with kids, parents and parent organizations as a teacher and school administrator. In this book Mike explores a key question, why are great kids great? His understanding of great kids, successful parenting styles and effective organizational leadership keeps Mike busy leading Parenting Today workshops, providing leadership coaching and writing on the topics of parenting and leadership. He and his wife, Ineke, have three wonderful, grown-up kids.

Mike is passionate about serving and giving back to his community. He is as an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Nelson, serves on the local Police Board, and works with Rotary on a variety of local and international projects. Depending upon the seasons Mike can often be found either casting a fly in the nearest trout stream or skiing some of the glorious Kootenay powder around his hometown in Nelson BC.
